For those who don't know, mc.mk is a domain owned by mc-market as a shorter version for urls. My proposition is to open up a public ShareX image upload.

This would allow members to make a mc.mk/i/... link which can be put anywhere on site. The mc.mk link would also be verified on site to allow for links to be converted into actual images on threads.

This is purely for convenience, and I would like to know others thoughts on this.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

How complicated is this to install? Good idea but a large workload

Surprisingly simple actually, just search on youtube 'sharex custom image upload' for a quick insight. As long as the /i/ doesn't clash with anything (and even if it does it could be changed to something else) it should all work perfectly.[DOUBLEPOST=1578239761][/DOUBLEPOST]
I've seen a bunch of sys admins who can do this without much labour, it just takes up a lot of storage capacity if you're planning on storing a lot of images long-term.
mc-market already stores images anyway, through images uploaded on threads, so it wouldn't make much difference.

Not necessarily; take discord for example, you can post anything and get a link which can then be pasted anywhere. Any links used on site that break the rules will be taken down, like images are on this site already. And people could also report inappropriate links through the ticket system if needs be.

Yes, but you're going to want to create a system to tie uploads to users. That'll require some level of integration with XF.

It's not worth the hassle it creates. MCM has more pressing issues than an image storage service.

They already have something similar with proxy.mc-market.org to keep photos live but it’s big link and it’s only for the things on threads. Mick, Justis R, and Jayson correct me.

Yeah, this is integrated with Xenforo (the software MCM is using for the forum).

We currently do allow for people to attach images to the site through our on-site attachments system which is hosting several hundred gigabytes worth of files. Adding in a public imgur alternative doesn't really make sense and is just an added expense for very little benefit.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
