So much has changed, I sort of got offline for a hot min and you can't do the following:

-Sell accounts (My raspberries account got locked offsite mcm)
-Buy or sell nitro

and I'm guessing a lot more. Add to the list in the comments.

Edit, added to the list: Loans,

Unsure how the prohibiting of 2 products/services supposedly removes it from being a market even though there are numerous other categories for products and services you could transition to. Perhaps the title would be more accurate if you updated it to "MCM is hardly a market anymore for me"

I strongly urge you to look through the forum before making such an outlandish statement.

your right, the fact that two things get removed isn’t the thing that makes it not a market. The fact that you guys removed these things and then activity dropped drastically is where the comment has come from. I can agree hardly a market might be a bit strong at this point, but there is an issue you guys need to address.

Mostly everything related to discord as well (like genning). I agree, I mainly use other forums nowadays since barely anything I sell can be sold on the site. Not very cash money.

I remember when Minecraft Accounts were allowed but now it's extremely strict to the point where you can't really talk about them at all. There is a whole list of things that have been removed. Investments, Accounts, Social Media Accounts, Nitro, and so on but there hasn't been anything added. I feel as if activity on the site has dropped to an all-time low, even before COVID-19 and the peak in activity, there was at least more people in the chatbox, posting threads and posting resources.
I just feel like the market is at such a low point, when you used to request Discord Ads back in around 2020 of August, you'd get so many friend requests and people replying with actual decent ads but nowadays you can go days without a reply. Just my 2 cents.
I wish the best for MC-Market and I hope the revival of this community & market.

I'm not saying it's not a market. I'm saying it's not the same. Also, for many years selling and buying minecraft accounts was prohibited but did that stop any site for real? From selling optifine cape or minecon cape accounts? You can't even ask how much certain named/rank accounts are worth even if you have no plan to sell.

And not to mention how many times I see people still selling nitro but yet when I ask around I get a warning.

Please report the content so they can be warned just as you were. We are unable to see everything and rely heavily on you, the community members. Your title states its "hardly a market" anymore, I'd argue this is not the most effective way to translate what you were intending apparently.

the point of the thread wasn't the nitro

it was that mcm isn't letting anyone talk about nitro, accounts, loans, investments, capes, social media accounts, indian jokes Violet

I agree as well. I feel like over-moderating in certain sections of this site, punishments given, and overall the moderating could be worked on and improved a bit. Did Diz break a rule fighting with members in the chatbox? Yes. But did he deserve a 1 month chatbox ban just for fighting? I don't think so. And it's just small things like this, coupled with sections being removed does hurt the site.

People get punished far too easily imo.

I know someone who uploaded a resource with a image instead of his resource and instead of them laughing and just sending a message saying "You uploaded a image by mistake" theu got an instant 20point warning, its different if you leave a premium plugin but accidentally uploading a image (from the resource)

"Just for fighting"?
You know what, I call bullshit. Don't ignore the context or history of Diz in shoutbox, just like Capaldi. Just don't.

Oh no I can't talk about all my favourite places to sell minecraft accounts and nitro :cry: :cry: how dare I not share things that break MCM rules :cry: :cry:[DOUBLEPOST=1630582784][/DOUBLEPOST]Least I can sell my soul to the devil. Geek, want it? <3

You can't mention other forums afaik however google should land you pretty close.
Haha google has only lead me to bullshit scam sites. Been researching this all night. Shame they don't do this anymore. Only site with the kind of established user base and level of activity I'd trust.[DOUBLEPOST=1630839465][/DOUBLEPOST]Guess I'm keeping it!

I thought I would respond to some of the comments on here, just because I think there are some misconceptions about the moderation of the site and the rules.

Firstly, when it comes to the site punishing users and moderating the content, we have rules and we stick to them, we can't just go "oh well, it's just arguing in chat" or "oh, maybe this time we will let it go." we follow an escalation process.

If you think that people are punished too easily, could you explain why? Do you believe that the rules are unclear? Do you think that people should be allowed to do certain things that we disallow? I would be interested to hear the opinions. I would suggest creating a suggestion thread if you believe something should be changed none the less.

In regards to this comment;

It might seem little but following an escalation process is important, if you do things and still can't improve from previous warnings then the punishment must increase and that's the same for any of the shoutbox rules, it's not just that arguing will cause this punishment. I won't comment on individual users but the general point being that a process is followed and that's how the site is moderated.

I'm not sure what you mean by over-moderated? The site has rules and that's what determines what's moderated and what's not, if the rules are violated the appropriate action is taken against the user in correspondence with the rules and the warnings stated here;
https://www.mc-market.org/wiki/warnings/

Furthermore, if the moderation could be improved, do you have any examples of what you mean? Do you mean changing the rules and/or process to better suit the community? If so I would suggest creating a thread in our suggestion forum here;
https://www.mc-market.org/suggestions/

In regards to the thread;

I must agree with Geek, I'm not sure how removing a few sections or editing the forbidden products list really affects the whole marketplace, yes it may harm a few select individuals who are looking to offer or request that specific service, but the wider forum still has a lot of services that can be offered.

I think the words, "hardly a marketplace anymore" are a little dramatic.

I look forward to the responses.
