I think that staff should write a weekly post about how many support tickets, feedback reports and other stuff like that. Right now, I've been getting a lot of people speaking out against staff, I don't think the problem is too little staff or lazy staff, I think it's bad communication between the actual staff members and community about how much work they are doing and have. I just think that this will improve the understanding between staff and community. Kram Justis and Mick thoughts?

Yes but this would only take like 10 minutes from one of the staff lead and would benefit how the community sees staff.

I dunno about having a staff member make an actual thread for it, maybe it'd be better if there's a stats page that shows the data
That would also be good, stuff like Staff messages in tickets, tickets opened, tickets closed, feedback disputes opened & closed, reports denied, reports handled.

As with others, I like the general idea of providing regular updates to the community, but weekly seems a bit unreasonable; maybe monthly would suffice?

If we introduced such a thing, I'd personally rather it be focused on development and the general direction the site is headed, rather than staff performance. There's currently 179 pending suggestions, and I'd love to hear what progress was being made on those, as well as other general advancements like the inevitable upgrade to XF2.

I'd be inclined to agree, as many community members simply aren't aware of the work and commitment being put in behind the scenes by all staff members, and this is where communication comes in.

the statistics that were suggested in the OP (e.g. tickets done) could be provided automatically

in general though, as I've said before, the site should definitely start providing more regular and frequent updates to the site. the updates should include what's to come and should allow the community to vote on the changes before they are implemented.

Personally I dont believe this would be at all usefull to the community. At the end of the day, us users create tickets, scam reports, support request, etc. Do we care about other people getting responses? Not really. We just want our problems resolved. I agree with Zyger that it might be convenient to have some automated stats:

Though the time it would take to implement that is in my opinion not worth it.

Good luck on this

Yea but it would show that things are getting done even if your ticket isn't getting responded to. It shows that that are doing something.

I doubt it'd take that long, all it would need to do is grab info from the database

I'm not sure if weekly is the solution, but a monthly summary of work sounds like a great idea. I really wish to see that coming soon as I'm pending an answer for over a month and a half ;P

Having Mick telling us update us on the site's progress, changes their working on, current road map, is good.

This is pointless.

I really think what I said above/Majored said though

This is a dumb suggestion and completely pointless. What benefit would there be showing users statistics on how active staff members have been each week? I also feel like the rate of announcement postings on mcm is fine just how it is. If Mick starts to post updates a lot more frequently than what it is now (1-3 months per post), it would just devalue announcements.

I also feel like people underestimate how difficult implementing new features are. MCM is a huge website with millions of posts and a lot of custom features. There are a lot of things that need to be tested/checked before implementing just one new feature.

There's only about 700 tickets. Implementing a stats page for it wouldn't be hard at all.

Yes but that information does not need to be public. There's no benefit for users having access to that.

Yeah there is, users would be able to figure out an estimate of when they'd get a reply to a ticket, instead of being left in the dark thinking that it'll never be replied to.

Make it like the State of the Union address and have the staff author(s) talk about how much progress they’ve made and make statistics vague enough and also avoid mentioning the people that are getting fucked over.
