Not a clue why you made a survival server for a marketplace forum, but here...

Why don't you just make a server with plugins like HeroChat (for local chat) and build a nice map and have trading rooms (A-Z) to conduct trades, an advertisement area and some quick minigames to play too. In this server people could advertise what they have, find new things to buy, etc., allowing for faster and more instant trades.

This was done in CS:GO with great success: https://www.reddit.com/r/gotradeserver

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Quite a strong and bold claim to make. Statistical evidence from a model? Evidence from other industries? Anything to back up your point?
I dont need any evidence, and I'm sure everyone would agree. Connecting to a MC server, then walking around "trading rooms", then having to ask them for skype in MC Chat. It would slow everything down.
Also, get a profile picture <3

Not sure who said anything about Skype.

OK, so let's clear this up:
  • I have evidence to back up that this works in similar trading industries
  • You have no evidence to back up your claim that it doesn't, but still have a strong and concrete opinion which is simply opinion
I am definitely not saying this is a perfect suggestion, but as far as that point goes, it's kinda blown out of the water. Theoretical concerns of time wasting exist, but you can't know until you try it out.

No, you dont have evidence. All you call evidence is the same idea from another game.

It's called a model, and I'm not sure why you bold another game because I've said that literally every single time I've mentioned it. It's closely related in many ways and it, to me, is an accurate model. You have nothing at all. So right now you're arguing with me for the sake of arguing with me.

No, I'm arguing with you because your wrong. Just because it worked with CS:GO, doesn't mean it will work with MC. Should we really waste the staffs time with this? The forum already works well, I don't see why we need a server with "trading rooms".

Last reply here, because this conversation is just a circlejerk now.

The site runs fine without tons of retarded suggestions here and accepted here. It's not called a waste of time if it's successful. And no, it doesn't, you're correct, but it's an accurate model representation of what will happen if you use it in Minecraft. Also not sure why you keep picking out "trading rooms" and stylising it stupidly. I think you're missing a lot of the idea here.

Alright, I'm done here. I've made my point.

My final point is that its useless, it'll die just like the survival server. No one wants to go to the effort of launching MC, going into a "trading room", when they could just go to the site.

And I'm picking out trading rooms, because its stupid. Fine, if this was a game, but its a trading forum.

Lol, whats the point of a trading room on a server what you can't trade on, just do it over PM or skype on the forums and it will be 10x faster.

Cool concept. Reason I voted agree was because you're able to advertise the mcm trading server through server lists (unlike the website), which can then eventually increase traffic to the website. Plus, it would problably be the first server of its kind.

Hopefully Mojang doesn't ban it as a violation to its TOS. Probably won't happen soon however.

Hmm, I wonder who would advertise the trading servers on server lists *wink wink

What if people make a script advertising there stuff?
Also why not just add a broadcast on the current server advertising 2-3 peoples stuff every 10 minutes or so.
Eg:
10:20am: Do you need web development? Then head to xxxxxx.com
10:30am : Alert $1/GB! 50% off sell at fakemc.host
Where it's $15 per week or something like that

I used to be a big deal on here but now irrelevant

The difference between your CSGO example and a Minecraft server is the fact that CSGO has it's own marketplace and in game items with value. You can initiate a legitimate trade by clicking on the persons trade link. This isn't the case with Minecraft stuff. I'm not sure why anyone would try to join a Minecraft server to check out someone's graphics, hosting company, builds (as they are not on the server), etc.

It doesn't seem practical and your example is poor.
