I’m not new to MCM, but I’m new to the whole buying and selling account scene. Theirs a couple words/phrases I keep seeing that I can not figure out the meaning to. Please help me out here:

- Proton/ Proton Mail
- OGE
- Pulled
- Prename (Pretty sure it means it’s the only player whose had the name, but I may be incorrect)

PebbleHost

Proton Mail is an online email service, google it and it should be the first link that shows. OGE is the original email address. Pulled is when account is recovered (back) and access is lost. Forgot about prename.

Correct me if I’m wrong about anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it should necessarily be created before name changes were a thing.
It should just have no previous names to be considered a Prename, like if it was activated with a giftcard
that would be considered a "Gc snipe" not a prename

prename means PRE(before) NAME changes

- Proton/ Proton Mail
A secure email service with a focus on user privacy and protection of data. It also needs minimal data from you, and is easy to create in bulk amounts which is why it is so popular here. All you have to do is either fill out a captcha or recieve an email to create one. On top of this, they are super easy to secure and transfer between owners. All that is required is removing 2fa if applicable and then a password change usually. https://protonmail.com

- OGE
Stands for “Original Email” aka the email that was used when registering an account. Many services require the original email to recover an account, and because of this, having OGE increases account security and value.

- Pulled
When someone recovers an account. Sometimes when people sell accounts and they get scammed by a previous owner who has OGE or transaction ID to prove ownership/purchase. And sometimes if an account is compromised and sold, it will get pulled by whoever lost it. Those are the 2 most common scenarios.

- Prename
It’s short for “Pre-namechange”. You weren’t able to change your name in Minecraft until February 4th, 2015. On that day, all “non premium” account names were released for claiming as well. “Pre-namehange” refers to accounts which have had their names before February 4th 2015 and have never changed their names before. An example of this is the name “Pat” https://namemc.com/search?q=Pat . This term was first used by @Kman in 2015, then I frequently used it and it ended up catching on and became shortened to “prename” by most. Note: “Prename” is not to be confused with “No name change” accounts. An example of this would be “Cry”
https://namemc.com/search?q=Cry . Notice that the current profile has no name changes, but a profile has existed before - that makes the difference.

Wouldn't a name, created after name changes were implemented, but still the first account to have the name, be considered a prename? E.G if on February 4th of 2015, instead of someone changing their name to an OG, they bought a completely new account with that name.

I dont really know, it doesnt matter anyways since its not valuable.
i never understood why people cared about name history, hell if namemc didnt exist then I bet you accounts with bad name history would be as valuable as a prename

keep in mind, gc sniping a name means that name belonged to another user already
