There's a permissions-based tag limit (which I don't know what it is for General Discussion). Be aware that people after a certain amount will not be tagged.

Tagging doesn't work like that (people are not guaranteed to see it, and alerts are deleted after deleting the post). Editing won't work either. There's no way to bypass the limit.

have a couple group DMs that are locked so only you can send messages and send the link to those. group DMs have a user limit but if you had multiple it would be feasible.
