I suggest adding a new category, called MCMarket Developer (or something similar).

That category should be assigned to users that developed something userful for the forum.
After checking the suggestion section, I see that there are a lot of them about the Forum's functionality which requires developers to implement. By adding such category you might stimulate users to develop features for free, as they would get a respectful badge for that.

I disagree with this suggestion. The staff team should not let people inside the community develop things that will be used on the site. If Ajdin were to do this, it wouldn't exactly be a good idea due to users using it for self gain. There could be many users adding in bits of code that could be malicious. As well as I doubt many users on this forum know how to code any sort of Xenforo addon. The few who could either wouldn't do it because they simply don't work for free or like I said add malicious code.

Why not ask to provide the source code along with the developed feature?

Who's to say the source code is the same as the Xenforo addon's source code. Even the slightest chance that there could be a way to bypass any security measures put in place should be put into consideration. It's simply too risky for this to happen.

Then it's important to think of the process of accepting the developed stuff, making sure that there are comments/explanations in the code. We need to make it as transparent as possible just so that the users and the forum are staying secure. There are some forums out there that follow this practice and they are doing pretty good so I hope it's gonna work out here too

I pay our developers alot. I usually go with people that have a big name within the XenForo community. The reason behind this is because they have a reputation to maintain and they are known for high quality code and work.

AFAIK there's no Xenforo developer on MC-Market that is known within the XF community itself.

Sounds like unpaid slave labor to me.

Very good point.

Known XenForo developers get paid anywhere from $50/hour to $150/hour. The reason behind this is because developing within XenForo itself is something you need to learn.

XenForo uses PHP, which isn't compiled like Java is. The addon can be read using any plain text editor.
