Pretty sure you're thinking of another guy or an impersonator since I'm usually always on MCM. Can you send screenshots of it?
Sure, i'm wondering if they made another discord under my name and messaged you? Because the 4 digit code came from your actual mcm account which confused me..

Yeah I got added by two people with the name kolbykskk[DOUBLEPOST=1505430667][/DOUBLEPOST]Ohh I think I know what happened, I must've been talking to a fake the whole time, and he was impersonating me while talking to you. When you sent the fake guy the code, he must've then sent it to me and told me to pm you it make it seem that he was legit. It also makes sense that he was trying to make me send a random bitcoin address via pm because I'm assuming he was like "I'll send the new BTC address" or something.[DOUBLEPOST=1505430718][/DOUBLEPOST]Saw an example similar to this on another site I'll find it[DOUBLEPOST=1505430848][/DOUBLEPOST]Seems like he tried to use a modified version of this:

"
Common Bitcoin Scam:
"The scam involves 3 users.

1. Someone who wants to buy BTC with PayPal

2. A trusted currency exchanger

3. The Scammer

Stage 1:

So it starts person 1 wants to purchase BTC most of the time a big amount. Then person 3 contacts person 1 saying they can sell them BTC for a normal rate.

Person 1 thinks it's a fair deal and asks for his PayPal e-mail.

Stage 2:

Now Person 3 contacts person 2 saying he wants to buy BTC for PayPal for the rates the exchanger sells.

The exchanger agrees and gives his PayPal to person 3 to send the money to.

Then person 3 gives the PayPal e-mail of person 2 to person 1.

So person 1 thinks he is paying person 3 and sends the money.

Stage 3:

Person 2 thinks that his customer, person 3 made a payment so he gives person 3 the Bitcoins. Now person 3 never contacts person 1 again.

So right now the exchanger got PayPal money from person 1 but gave BTC to person 3. Because he thinks person 3 paid, he doesn't know person 1 is even involved.

After a while person 1 makes a chargeback and if he wins the chargeback person 2 gets's scammed the full amount. If person 1 loses the chargeback he get's scammed for the full amount.

And person 3 walks away with the BTC, scamming either person 1 or 2.

How to prevent it:

If you're the exchanger:

Ask before you deal for the BTC address the BTC should go to after the payment was made. Now put this BTC address in the description or invoice and hope that person 1 notices that his BTC address isn't in the description.

As the buyer:

Ask person 3 to add the following: The buyers BTC address [YOUR BTC ADDRESS]. He will probably say no because of course person 3 wants’ the BTC to go to his wallet and not yours. So if he says he won't add your BTC address to the payment description. Then just be smart and make a deal with a different user. It's not worth the risk." - The Illusionist.

That's exactly what it must have been, good find. Glad you understand. It seemed too sketchy for me to go through with an exchange.
