The Washington Post reports that “two influential Microsoft shareholders” believe that the future of Microsoft is in selling software to businesses, and that means killing off “non-essential product lines.”

More specifically, it means saying goodbye to Bing Surface, and the Xbox.[DOUBLEPOST=1461639894][/DOUBLEPOST]
You're claims are completely incorrect. Xbox 360's live feature is unsupported. Xbox One is, however, still being manufactured and sold. Please do not speak about a statement you're not sure about like you know it's true.
Xbox Live on the 360 is still being supported.[DOUBLEPOST=1461640004][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you didn't see it, the head of xbox said:
  • Xbox 360 owners will continue to receive Xbox Live services for their console, such as online multiplayer gaming and parties, access to the apps they use today, and Games with Gold and Deals with Gold.
  • Xbox Live servers that support Xbox 360 services will also remain online and active. Our Xbox 360 fans can continue to play their favorite games with the full support of Xbox Live.

You're right, I thought the speculation had been confirmed but it's still not confirmed as of yet. However, the Xbox is extremely profitable and the Xbox one & 360 are not being stopped from manufacturing.

"However, the Xbox is extremely profitable and the Xbox one & 360 are not being stopped from manufacturing"

They just announced that they stop producing Xbox 360s...

Uhm, no. Are you even reading it? It was just a rumor that they were going down, the article even states "Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like this will be the case. According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer when asked on Twitter about the same, “Not true.” Which is as succinct an answer as it gets." I doubt the Xbox 360 would be shutting down it's live services any time soon.

Also, the xbox 360 is already being stopped from manufacturing, there isn't much of a point to keep making new ones (I don't know their sales, but I'm sure the 360's sales have gone down a lot).

Anyways, I don't think they would kill of Xbox, it's a huge platform of gamers. The two articles Agonist linked, are from February 2014, and they've only been growing. If I'm not mistaken, it was still around the time when the Xbox One was sort of new and probably didn't sell much.
