Ok. So I've got a crazy idea. Yes I know, all my previous ideas about reducing scamming etc. have been overly complex. Here's a simple one for a change.

Idk how much $$$ MC-Market makes, but I'm pretty sure it can afford to give out 2 digit $$$ if a user is scammed and shows sufficient evidence.

Example: I get scammed $15. I scam report a guy, he gets banned with the sufficient evidence. MC-Market is generous and sends me $15 to my paypal.

of course there's going to be flaws with this. Peeps probs will abuse the fuck out of this and create alts or fake scams and get money out. However I feel that if MC-Market really has a heart or wants to have a better system to resolve scamming, it shouldn't be through stopping at scam reports. Make a little funding/donation asset to give to people who are scammed up to $50 max?

My guess is this thread is going to turn into a joke, I'm going to get rated funny, and staff won't take this seriously. Who knows, I'll never know unless I try.

eh, sorry, this is not going to happen :p. Trust me. With the amount of scams taking place on here, McMarket would be bankrupt in no time at all. $5 may not be much, but if you have 20 scam reports in a week it starts adding up. and a bunch of those scam reports are more than $5

I think the "GoFundMe" sort of idea is good, you should apply to get your money donated back to you.

Although Mick wouldn't do this
I kinda already hypothesized all the negative aspects of this. however I just want to present the idea as I am a person who wishes to make a more positive impact on some form of society, this case being MCM. Perhaps naive yes to some people, but like I said, I'll never know if I never try.

-1 so basically the idea is that all our donations go to people that got scammed?

Most people in this modern day set rip off prices and then go and buy a car made of money.

They wouldn't agree to giving money back as such, but perhaps they might give a perk if the scam is above $10.
e.g Name colours you can't buy.

Errrrr... Yup. Crazy I know, but allow me to make a metaphor. Why are there foundations dedicated to doing generous favors for people who need financial help? Not everyone in the world can simply "try their best" and "make their own living/fortune" like an "American Dream". It's not like most people who get scammed are scammers themselves or did anything wrong... (though peeps who believe in Karma could argue the other way :p)[DOUBLEPOST=1454748849,1454748809][/DOUBLEPOST]

Unfortunately this is pretty much impossible for us at this moment. A lot of the money is being invested in custom addon development. A good chunk was invested in performance upgrades aswell.

This is a charity, not a business. This is the most stupid idea, by far. Helping little kids pay for their new trainers sounds very... pleasant... huh. At least you could make it an insurance policy. Pay $1000 to MCM a month, and have $500 cover insurance in case you get scammed. I mean, that sounds like a wise idea to me.

I doubt 4 figures a month is invested into custom development.

This would just lead to fake scam reports to make money rather than actual work.

Maybe not all money, but a good chunk is being invested in addons in general. We're talking about site changing addons.
