I have seen so many bidders that have bidded a set amount and then back out not even a day later. I get stupid bidders like this all the time: http://gyazo.com/f4042f583012775c70e4e89fe58c25f3

First let's establish a definition of what a "bid" is.

Bid-
  1. offer (a certain price) for something, especially at an auction.
  2. an offer of a price, especially at an auction.
(Thanks Google).

From this information, when you put down a number, you are offering your price.

If you have bidded an amount and no one has bidded over you, then you should have an obligation to pay up because YOU made that decision to place down that bid. The seller shouldn't hurt from your stupid decision, so do the community a good favor and either stop bidding on things that you THINK you want but don't actually know, or pay up and be done with it.

And for those of you who want to complain about "oh, what if I found a new product to replace it?" Maybe you should remove your post right after you found that product, instead of having that post still there (as it STILL represents an offer on that product). Don't be that one guy and be too lazy to remove the post because you think someone probably bidded higher than you and won the auction, because let's face it, MCM is full of stupid people (me included).

Rant concluded, head still hurting from the idiocracy of 90% of the people who buy things on MCM.

Assuming a bid is actually an offer and not an invitation to treat, legally you can revoke your offer before the other party accepts it, but if they accept it you cannot revoke it unless the other party agrees. Say someone bids $50 on something and you message them agreeing before they revoke the offer. They cannot say no after you accept the contract. Again, this is only true if a bid is actually an offer which I am not sure of. Also note that half sales on this website aren't legal, so good luck doing shit with this information.

I'm not saying I want to do anything like that, I'm not going to report them to a court.
All I'm saying is to be the good guy and don't put down troll bids that screw legitimate sellers over.
