Hey.
MineArk is a Minecraft network in the stages of BETA, we have multiple existing game modes such as Skyblock, Skywars, and more.
I'm straggly, I'm the Lead Developer at MineArk - while we wanted to release a few weeks back, we were unable to complete the server with 1 main developer so we're looking to employ a few more developers to take this further and complete the network for a suitable time.
What are we looking for? We're looking for both configuration and programming developers to find a balance of unique custom features and sustainable existing plugins.
Programmer Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience using Java.
This reassures us that you are comfortably knowledgeable of data types, data structures, algorithms, and so on.
- Experience with MySQL is preferred however not necessary.
We store information such as our network-wide currency, Arks, on an SQL database, and other information.
- At least 1 year of experience using the Spigot/Bukkit API.
To be a developer on our network, you must be able to use the Spigot API.
- You must have experience with dependency injection.
For example, you would need to be able to use our core plugin as a dependency for information such as getting a player's Ark balance.
- Experience with NMS and packet manipulation.
Although not necessary, it heavily helps if you have experience as it extends your plugin's capabilities. (You may use external libraries if necessary.)
- Ability to work in a team with other programming developers as well as working alongside the configuration developers.
If your plugin made for the server has a hefty configuration file, it can be passed to the configuration developer team, however, you must also supply them with information on it so they can configure it properly.
Configuration Requirements:
- Experience configuring YAML files.
As expected, we require that you have experience configuring YAML files, this covers the basics of using spaces instead of tabs, single or double quotes for strings, and so on.
- Ability to understand console error logs.
This means you'll be able to identify issues, the plugin causing them and if possible, how to fix them.
- Ability to work in a team with other configuration developers.
The configuration team heavily depends on communication and teamwork.
- Avoided conflict and communication with higher ranks.
In your time at MineArk, you're likely to be given multiple projects, especially from the programming team. You must be able to avoid conflict and communicate with whoever necessary in order to make progress.
If you feel you have the required skillset to become a configuration or programming developer on MineArk, contact me on discord using straggly#2073, where we will be able to take the discussion further.
