Minecraft Server Advertisement

Hello,

Over the past few weeks there has been more and more Minecraft server advertisement threads (For example, join my server now blah blah kind of threads). Although this doesn't fit into the 'Marketplace' vibe it's something I think would benefit MC-Market as a whole because we all get bored and want to have a look around a other servers once in a awhile.

Anyway vote on the poll and discuss below what you think should be done about this. Have a good day.

I don't see how this fits, the people that view this site are not looking for a new server to join.

It should be added but the advertisements should contain strict rules which clearly state the use of the terms "need staff" are classified as click bait and should be disallowed.

As long as this feature is separated from the other sections it would be a nice feature to have.

I disagree, if we advertise, we should be able to advertise properly.

I would like to suggest that we do something similar to what MinecraftForum.net has done with their new server listings. Essentially we would have our own small server listing page. http://www.minecraftforum.net/servers

Waste of time and resources. That's like asking Taco Bell to advertise McDonalds in their stores. The demographics of this site is mostly people making their own thing, not looking for a server to play on. It would be poorly spent money to anyone who thinks this would be beneficial.

This is one of the site's biggest problems... drifting. Stick to one thing and do it well. Don't try to do everything, because often you end up doing everything half-assed. You know... Jack of all, master of none.

Agreed. I don't know why this has gotten so many "yes" votes, for this is completely off the focus of MCM. The server banners in signatures are enough.
