Minecraft server suggestions

Hello,

So as requested (and declined/postponed) many times, we have finally decided to start planning a official MC-Market Minecraft server.
I'm creating this thread to get some suggestions from you guys on what you'd like to see.

Things like, what gamemode should it be? How should it be affiliated with MC-Market? What ranks would you like to see on it? etc.

More suggestion threads or maybe even a questionnaire would be created regarding this. This is just a thread to get rough ideas and a sketch of what you'd like to see.

I'm looking forward to it and I'm definitely excited

This is what I had in mind. But I think it would be much better to start a server with a single game mode and build from there as we grow.

Those are the opinions I'm trying to get out of this thread.

In my opinion, you should have something to cater to the whole audience. Assumptions coming from seeing what most of the ranks on accounts bought and sold tell me these are your top servers (in no order):
- Factions
- HCF
- SG
- Minigames (Mineplex/Hypixel Specifically)
- Creative

The servers will profit by making it slightly pay to win. Don't pull the "oh we don't want to make it pay to win" BS because 90% of 500+ player servers are P2W.

We seriously don't want to do this. From what was suggested so far inside the admin team is that the server won't have any kind of donation system. All ranks will be synced with our forum.

We are unsure how staff will be picked but application processes are one thing we would avoid for sure.

Probably the same way staff is picked right now.

Claim Ownership of an account - Ask someone who can develop to make a plugin that generates a link for people to auto claim their account on MClaim.net

The site mclaim.net itself is much more secure than verifying by execting a command.

I say make a network like others said, and get donor and staff ranks from the MCM site. Around 3 or 4 gamemodes on a relatively inexpensive dedicated server would be perfect.

I feel since we are a market and most of us don't play Minecraft anymore the server should avoid a PvP type server. I feel mini games could be a good start because they are fun and require nearly no skill to play it would allow us to make nice OG parties too

This is actually a pretty good idea, and the server would actually work out pretty well as there's people from all sides of minecraft that use the forums that may potentially help with the server. E.g. Graphics, Hosting, Advertising, Devs, Donations, etc.

This is actually a pretty good idea, and the server would actually work out pretty well as there's people from all sides of minecraft that use the forums that may potentially help with the server. E.g. Graphics, Hosting, Advertising, Devs, Donations, etc.

Agreed, I think anyone that helps should be 'featured' on the server with a link to their MCM etc;, it'd help new members get their reputation up too.

It's in attempt to create a monopoly. Unfortunately, this is more trolls, immature kids and general players than server owners, representatives and businessmen.

You're going to heavily impact business here, any legitimate business anyway.

I am, genuinely, surprised nobody has made a competing, real marketplace yet. It's going to be very easy to do with the way this site operates, and definitely very profitable as far as money goes (if done right).
