Minecraft server suggestions

Hello,

So as requested (and declined/postponed) many times, we have finally decided to start planning a official MC-Market Minecraft server.
I'm creating this thread to get some suggestions from you guys on what you'd like to see.

Things like, what gamemode should it be? How should it be affiliated with MC-Market? What ranks would you like to see on it? etc.

More suggestion threads or maybe even a questionnaire would be created regarding this. This is just a thread to get rough ideas and a sketch of what you'd like to see.

I'm looking forward to it and I'm definitely excited

This is what I had in mind. But I think it would be much better to start a server with a single game mode and build from there as we grow.

Those are the opinions I'm trying to get out of this thread.

In my opinion, you should have something to cater to the whole audience. Assumptions coming from seeing what most of the ranks on accounts bought and sold tell me these are your top servers (in no order):
- Factions
- HCF
- SG
- Minigames (Mineplex/Hypixel Specifically)
- Creative

The servers will profit by making it slightly pay to win. Don't pull the "oh we don't want to make it pay to win" BS because 90% of 500+ player servers are P2W.

We seriously don't want to do this. From what was suggested so far inside the admin team is that the server won't have any kind of donation system. All ranks will be synced with our forum.

id like to see a SMP style network, a hub server linked to each server with bungee. could have multiple SMP servers each with a new twist. of witch ONE of the servers should have premium and supreme as ranks for current mcm donors. the rest can have buyable ranks to support mc-market. I would love to do some brainstorming if your open to help and help plan out setups

I see the point. What about advertisement, would it be solely based off MC-M?

That's our goal for the start. However you never know where the future takes us. Maybe we're the next mineplex Joking.

It might do you some good to try to advertise on a large YTers channel, both for MC-M and the server.

We were honestly planning to make the server MCM members only. This also prevents a lot of things like ban evaders and trolls logging in.

a class system Smp would be cool. allow players to select wether they want to be builders, miners, farmers and so on

Highly like the idea of an SMP server and then building up plugins wise. Also, I think a build contest should be held for the spawn, this would promote activity on the server. I would also suggest either adding an anti-spambot plugin or only allowing donators since this site is a big target for scammers and other competitor sites.

Ah, then some gamemodes might not work. Factions or HCF, for example, would depend on how many MC-M members would actually be willing to play actively. You need like 80+ average for a really good server. Though, Minigame would work.

The main thing I was suggesting was having a large MC YTer to S/O MC-M like CSGO YTers do with CS:GO sites. Could generate some new members on MC-M.

That's why we want to start basic and see where it goes

Site ranks should be synchronized with in-game ranks.

The gamemode should be Survival Economy since this is a marketplace forum and that's the closest there is to simulating a real world economy.

It's kind of like that, yes. With ChestShops, purchased warps, and a player driven economy.

It's truly a lot of fun.
