Oh yes. You would need a host for it. If your looking for cheap I would suggest getting ggservers or shockbyte.com/ and as for streaming id suggest using OBS

You would need a powerful server specially if you're looking to have 100+ players, you would need to know how to configure plugins and how to properly setup things,

I would suggest you starting your small LAN-hosted server on your PC, and trying to configure plugins as if they were public, get to know how to deal with plugins breaking and what not, then maybe consider opening a public server, but for that you need to know your market and you need to have a unique server, because SMP servers nowadays are verrrry common, and it's really easy to fail. goodluck!!
