Introduction
Greetings reader! My name is Max and I'm 21 years old. I have been making Minecraft servers since 2015 over ten years now, almost half my life LOL. I've solo owned and developed multiple "successful" servers in the HCF/PotPvP scene so I know my way around and definitely not a rookie with a peak of 2,000 concurrent players under my belt. But this post is not about the past and what was, its about the future. I'm working on the latest Minecraft version server development, redefining the traditional network stack.

What makes Minemares "innovative"?
Awhile back something very interesting dropped called SpacetimeDB. It's a relational database that is embedded in the actual server itself. As you can see in the graph, its significantly faster than a traditional database stack. I would have used a Postgres or Mongo database with Redis as my cache providing a 3 tier cache layer (L1 Caffeine In-Memory → L2 Redis → L3 Database). However, by implementing Spacetime directly into the JVM we don't need to cache. The database runs parallel to the server, allowing us to have synchronization between different environments with real time updates. This allows us to enhance almost every aspect of the network from performance, to gameplay, to networking. Since Spacetime only offers Rust, C#, C++ and TypeScript SDK with Rust being the most mature out of the options, we have to compromise. We run the Rust SDK directly in the JVM which unlocks the ability to use Rust's performance, meaning we can do calculations and offload resource intensive actions to Rust which will handle them very efficiently with a low foot print. I really recommend doing further research into spacetime as this is just a short description of its capabilities.

My implementation
So I built my network from the ground up to embed Spacetime natively into our stack. This means spacetime handles everything from ranks, punishments, staff, schedulers, networking, hit registry, even anti-cheat. I am not using Paper or any public plugins but a project called Minestom which is pretty much a bare bones Java server and you put all of the game logic yourself. You can research into it yourself as I'm not here to do a deep dive into either projects. To sum it up, I made my network server authoritative and we treat the Minecraft client (the player) as a liar and validate everything in the database. This means the client is only able to do things we allow it to, preventing phasing, duping, attribute modification etc etc. We have the entire world loaded from the spacetime database so the database has spatial awareness in real time, this allows for infinite possibilities and game changing features/systems.

What is the network gameplay focus?
Minemares is focused on PvP however not tunnel visioned. I plan on releasing a Practice beta and a Prisons realm on launch, I will be expanding the network to touch most game modes such as Factions, Skyblock, SMP and other power house game modes. Mini games are also planned such as Survival Games, UHC, Skywars, PotPvP Bunkers, SoupPvP and a suite of never seen before games. Voice chat will be implemented even for vanilla players so community engagement will be a main focus.

What I’m looking for.
I’m mainly seeking investors and asset creators/graphic designers. In terms of investment, funds would go to hosting, advertising and payouts. If you are interested in helping with development I wouldn’t turn it down I’m just not hiring work. I don’t want to make a crazy P2W server but I’m not afraid of testing the EULA either :p lol. There are two ranks, season ranks and realm ranks. Season ranks are mainly for queue prioritization, multipliers and cosmetics but also unlocks the premier tier for your rank of the free season pass. Realm ranks will be for a specific game mode such as Prison or Survival. I design everything with F2P experience prioritized, so the average player never feels the need to spend their hard earned money to compete or enjoy their experience. Our model is meant to compel the players to donate because they love the experience already and want to support what we are producing. Seasons last 4 months with each resetting ranks but not forgetting the player’s donations providing the network with a quarterly revenue income. We will have a round up option for every donation to cover the processing fees if the donor wishes to bless the community with random gifts from their round up. There will be a store currency that players have to use to purchase anything, we provide bonus percentage for higher volume purchases. This allows us to give F2P players the feeling that they grind enough to get ranks or donor rewards. We will have a secondary currency that can be converted to store currency, allowing players to bet for a chance to win big, or donors to lose all of their left over change.
