POSITIONS FILLED

M
INEPIRE

Official logo and website coming to a router near you...

Minepire is seeking experienced developers. Those with a strong understanding of the Java language, its conventions, patterns, etc. Experience with the Bukkit/Spigot API is preferred but not required. Our projects will be built upon Maven, and as such, experience with Maven is preferred but not required.

Prerequisites
  • Is at least 16 years of age
  • Has a deep understanding of Java
  • Is able to write highly efficient code
  • Is willing to use Skype on a daily basis
  • Has a recording device (microphone)
  • Is not involved with other projects/servers

About us

Minepire is not your everyday Factions’ server. We do things a little differently around here. To us, Minepire offers its users a new way to play Minecraft. We will accomplish this through the incorporation of new and improved gameplay, as well as elements that have never before been seen on any other Minecraft server. The objective is simple – to redefine the standard that was defined by Factions some years ago. We will employ an aggressive growth strategy! We understand how important it is to attract new players, but ultimately our focus is on player retention.

And of course, Minepire will maintain a EULA compatible environment for our users to enjoy.

Application process
It is presumed we will receive a number of applicants. For that reason, applicants will undergo a two part interview. Part one will consist of a verbal interview over a Skype call (it's completely free). Part two will put your skills to the test. We will ask you to develop a rather “simple” plugin for us. All applicants will receive the exact same assignment. This plugin will not be deployed on any of our servers, and is yours to keep. Your code will be analyzed and compared to the other applicants' code. May the best developer(s) win!

Partnership opportunities
Minepire is seeking a long-term relationship. Being put through our vigorous application process is only the beginning. With the delivery of hard work, determination, and trust, Minepire is looking to the future! We hope to add you to the inner circle where the benefits are as good as it sounds. Profit sharing, higher influence in decision making, etc. We are only open to partnership with not those who are willing to apply, but those who are willing to commit.

The stake you'll have in Minepire will be discussed on an individual basis. Just remember your skills could improve the success of the server, and in return equal more pay. Leading up to a decision on whether or not you may be a fit for partnership, we are willing to establish a budget. The budget starts at $300, but is absolutely flexible.

Considering Minepire is still in development, we'd ask you to be quite active for us to get things off the ground. However, we imagine things will begin to settle afterwards. Putting in roughly 15 hours a week would allow us to get a playable version of the server launched within two (2) months.

Got your attention? Please send an email along with your resume to [email protected]

Thank you,

Minepire Management

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Your project looks interesting, and you seem very serious about it. but a few things are bothering me. Why do you not require knowlege of the Bukkit API? Require that the dev is not involved with other projects/servers? We can be as active on both projects. Also, can you tell us a little about pay? Maybe a payment upon project completion, a % of the donations etc.

Well Ferdz, we only require a deep understanding of the Java language. We are seeking Java developers and not "Minecraft" developers. With an understanding of the language, it doesn't take much to review the documentation and look at its implementation. So no, experience with the Bukkit API is not a requirement for us. It is preferred of course.

Requiring you not be involved in other projects/servers is only to deter those who bite more than they can chew.

The remainder of your questions are best discussed on an individual basis. Not everyone has the same wants and needs.

Requiring you not be involved in other projects/servers is only to deter those who bite more than they can chew.

Why that, working on 2 projects at a time could just make you more productive since one project is most of the time soo different from the other one. I would only just help you, since you look at the same thing (Minecraft) but in a different way. If you would run into an error, well just get on with the other project, and, most of the time, while I am programming on the other project. The sollution for the first project just flies into my mind.

Also,
  • Is able to write highly efficient code
Even some developers at great server sometimes write in spaghetti code, most of the time efficient, but barely readable for other developers.

Again, that is only in place to deter those who bite more than they can chew. If you can balance two projects at a time, no problem.

For us efficiency includes both readability and maintainability. Spaghetti code would not be efficient.
