Mineplex sets donation goals in the hundreds of thousands and consistently meets them. Mineplex isn't just a MC server, is a full on and MASSIVELY profitable business.

Let's see a server will a 100 players online at one time goes for what? $2500? Mineplex has around 10000 on at any given time so that would bring it up to $50000, not only that is also has a great reputation and is known about by nearly everyone. This server gets tens of thousands of dollars in donations rather frequently, truly 1M to 5M is not that far fetched.
