Introduction
Hello, my name is Santi and I am an owner of a server called MineStorm. We are a Skyblock based network looking to bring a custom/vanilla Skyblock feel. MineStorm's main priority is the players. We are here to make a great server for the Skyblock and Prison community. MineStorm is going to be a Skyblock based network along side Prison and KitPvP. Since the Minecraft community is getting bigger again, I believe this is a great time to start a network up.
Since MineStorm is going to be a vanilla/custom Skyblock server, we are going to be needing countless developers, countless caring staff members, and many managers helping to make MineStorm a great network. Please keep in mind that I have recently started this project so I have little to no stuff as of now. I feel like we can develop the server in 2-3 weeks and then push it out for a BETA. As the owner(s) of MineSaga (a top Skyblock server) made a new server called Squads.gg, I feel like we can compete with them.
Requirements
When you are looking for another person to start a network with you, you have to have requirements. You can’t just pick some random person with no experience, no knowledge in servers, etc.
14 years old or older
Knowledge with Skyblock and or Prison servers
Budget of $400+ for server expenses (I am putting in $500-$700 myself)
Past ownership experiences
Basic knowledge of System Administration (if not, you can learn it)
Business Plan
My goal is to have 3 servers Skyblock, KitPvP, and Prison. We will also have 2-3 hubs that will have a server selector with the servers you can join. After the hub is released, I am going to release KitPvP so the kids that want to join the server can PvP while we are developing Skyblock. Once we have a 10+ player base on KitPvP and we know that people are enjoying the server, we are going to start setting up our website. Our website will have announcements, developer logs, staff applications, and other community interaction. For the HCF server, we are striving to release the server with 90% or ALL custom plugins. Once we are comfortable releasing Skyblock BETA, I am going to be paying a few YouTubers to advertise the server, discord, website, etc. The reason we are going to be having a BETA is so that players will see that the server is good (or bad, depending on their opinion) so that they can be hyped/excited for out full release. I want to interact with the network a lot (host giveaways, do polls, and just do stuff with the community) so players would feel great playing the network.
Once Skyblock is good and we have a player base, I am going to start developing prison. Then we can go from there if the community wants it.
Advertisements Plan
I want to keep this private as I feel like this will help the server out in many ways. This is an advertisement plan I have been thinking about for a few months now, so I feel like this will work. A few big servers used something similar to this and they have gotten a lot of players, donations, etc.
Expenses
As a server owner, many of you know that it is not cheap to run a network. Here are the expenses we will have for MineStorm:
Dedicated Server - $32 - $80 (depending on what host we choose)
Advertisement - $200 - $600 (depending on how hard we want to release)
Custom Plugins - $50 - $150 (depending on what we need. Keep in mind that we won't need more than a few custom big plugins)
Builds - $5 - $200 (depending on what builds we need)
GFX - $50-$180
