My 1080 arrived, put it in my rig. Works fine but the hashrate is 21 M/H, my other 1070s get a steady 28 m/h.

I thought 1080s were suppose to be getting more?

Thse are EVGA SC brands.

This is a GPU rig, not connected to my computer or monitor.

Willing to pay someone to help me fix this problem. Its for sure something on my side.

Currently mining ethereum

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

The 1070 is supposed to be able to hit a hashrate of 30 M/H according to this.
The 1080 (ti!) is supposed to hit 32 M/H, but that's the TI.
The normal 1080 might not actually be that good for mining (different architecture? locking? idfk)
What are you trying to mine, btw?

Ethereum
My EVGA 1070 SC gets around 28.5
My EVGA 1080 SC should get more than 28.5 right? It gets 21.9

I am mining ethereum, using simplemining as my miner program

well, as I said, according to that article the hash rate of the 1080 ti is not actually that much higher than that of the normal 1070. It's very possible that a 'normal' 1080 is actually worse than a 1070.

Thats sucha bummer, I paid almost $600 for that GPU compared to $439 for a 1070

Well, you can always try to resell it for $500 or so. sure, 100 loss, but you could get another 1070.
Ofc, i'm not an expert, so be sure to get more information from other people. Try actual crypto mining fora.
