Theme​

For this Model Mastery, participants are invited to focus on creating an Ice Sculpture model. Your creation can be anything you imagine within the frosty theme – from an elegant frog to a fierce ender dragon, or even a fantastical Minecraft golem covered in ice. Let your creativity shine through in the icy details and imaginative designs of your sculpture!

Prize Pool​

$500 (Sent via Paypal) divided among the top three Model Masters:

• 1st Place: $200
• 2nd Place: $150
• 3rd Place: $100
• 50$ Consolation prize for 1 random person below the top 3

Event Structure​

Each participant will submit one .bbmodel file. Collaboration is encouraged within the community, but everyone must submit unique work. Models must be compatible with the Java edition of Minecraft. They will be imported and showcased in our Minecraft voting server using ModelEngine. Please make sure your model is compatible and can be imported in-game as you envision it while modeling. If you are new to modeling or want some more information on general standards or compatibility, you can check out this guide. Please review the following competition guidelines:

• Modeling Software: Blockbench
• Format: Generic Model
• Model Size: No larger than 3x3x4 (LxWxH) blocks/tiles
• Animations: Idle animations will appear

Submissions, & Voting​

Submissions:​

You can submit your model anytime during the submission period (Check Dates). To submit, go to ⁠the general chat in Our Discord and do the command /submit-model. Follow the prompts guiding you through the .bbmodel file upload process!

• Submission File:
  • Name your file: discord_username-1208.bbmodel
  • Replace spaces with "-" or "_" when naming your model textures
  • Use lowercase letters only in the file and texture names

Voting:​

Anyone in the Creators Discord is welcome to vote. Voters score each model from 1-5 in the categories below for a total of 20 points. The community vote is the primary factor in determining winners; however, the HYTOPIA Team has the final say.

• Theme & Originality (Scored 1-5 points)
  • Does the model adhere to the theme? Does it showcase the creator's originality, and is it unique?
• Functionality (Scored 1-5 points)
  • Is the model designed to make it usable and interactive in the context of a Minecraft game?
• Technical Skill & Complexity (Scored 1-5 points)
  • Does the model demonstrate a high level of technical skill in its construction and execution?
• Texture & Material Usage (Scored 1-5 points)
  • Are the textures and materials used effectively? Do they create an overall aesthetic appeal?

• No outsourcing of work to any entity/individual
• No inappropriate content, profanity, nudity, racism/sexism, homophobia/hate speech, drug/alcohol use, gambling

You keep the rights to sell or distribute your submission. However, you grant HYTOPIA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your submissions for promotional purposes.
