Hello, I've been on here a while and I've noticed a lot of the time when I click a thread where the user is looking to hire a freelancer (graphics artist, developer, configurator, etc..), the thread is in complete shambles. Could we get some sort of template for the user to fill out, or even some rules that make it easier for the freelancers? Even making users provide a budget before they post the thread would help a lot.

Spigot manages this really well, where they make you include the following in any recruitment thread:
  • Provide an allowed method of contact (see section rules)
  • Be listed for yourself or as an approved middleman
  • Provide a transcription of images that contain relevant details
  • Provide a time frame for completion of work
  • Provide a general budget for the work
and once you have posted your thread, you have to wait for the thread to get approved before it actually appears to the public and overall works really well.

pros:
- cleaner website
- freelancers have a contact method they can use other than the forums (ie discord)
- freelancers know if a user actually has a budget or whether they are going to be paying them nothing
- helps people lay out recruitment threads
- people who are looking for 'developers' 9 times out of 10 are looking for someone to configurate plugins, this would prevent that
- less people posting under the thread asking for details that should have been provided in the thread it's self

cons:
- more moderation

here's some poorly made threads that don't include crucial details from the last couple days/weeks that I'm referring to:

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I agree with this, half of the users basically don't even deal with anyone and let the thread go in the air which also makes the case worse and not go through after making a thread.

Generally, I like for us to be providing minimal moderation and prerequisites/requirements in our marketplace forums to ensure that users are able to trade (mostly) freely. Our rules are strict in a lot of areas, but if someone wants to open a thread requesting freelancers without much information on it because they want to keep the project details private then I see no problem with that. The better structured your requesting post is, the more freelancers will contact you.

If you're a freelancer and find a requesting post with very little detail on it, it's up to you whether you decide to contact the person to find out whether you're right for the project or not.

Increasing moderation also increases the workload on our staff which is generally beneficial to avoid due to the backlogs that can be caused etc.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
