Mojang rate limits my server [450 player joins per 5 seconds]

Hey,

Anytime I restart my server, about 450 people flood connect to join the server and mojang always closes all existing connections to my server and replies with this error.

It's really annoying b/c I cannot open my server without manually rate limiting my server on a DNS level.

Any solutions? I cannot help the insane rate limit...

You could try caching your requests into a MySQL db.

450 players in 5 seconds? Tell me your secret haha.

Genuinely have no clue how to fix this, perhaps you'd need a custom spigot jar but that is way beyond my development skills...


Myiume could probably help.
we hve a custom spigot and bungee, but the issue isn't at the server not being able to handle it, it's the authentication to mojangs server. if i put it on offline mode, everything would work fine :/

Try working on it at the dns level obviously. or maybe make a better server that has a more stable playerbase.

I've read about this new service thing. This is my attempt to explain it lol. So when there is a request from a player to join the server, there are 3 sub servers under the main domain. The service will randomly choose one of the sub servers. Mojang will register the requests coming from different servers. After the mojang request, they will be redirected to the main server through bungee. BTW, wats the server ip?

you can set up multiple A records with cloudflare and other dns providers. but what you're saying wouldn't stop the rate limiting from mojang
