Most Popular and Demanding MC Gamemodes?

In the process of making a server but I don't want to make a 1.7 Server.

What are the best and most demanding gamemodes people are playing right now?

I know Skyblock is one of them but I don't really get it can someone explain what it is?

Hmm no 1.7.x - 1.8.9.
That cuts out HCF(Steady uprise due to MineHQ so do not claim it is dead, the era of Velt & FMC has closed and a new era from a past time is to be ushered in.), Practice, & large portions of UHC. I don't know about reg factions.
Essentially the entire PvP community.
Now you just lost tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of players which is unfortunate.

Skyblock - Skywars - Prison. Really all I know of that receive a large playerbase however I stick to PvP and not other types so do not quote me.

This is just my opinion btw so do not try scuffing me please.

Prison is still popular?

If people were logical everyone would play on 1.12.2 (Old Combat Mechanics is a thing) but for some reason many players fail to grasp the concept that 1.8 mechanics can be perfectly replicated in newer versions along with the new features of Minecraft.

But enough with ranting about that, if you make your server in 1.12.2 it will more or less act as a barrier towards (no offense) generally toxic players, (As extreme competition causes people to forget that there's a human on the other side of the screen and lose respect for everyone else) however this opens up your server more towards what is best known as "squeakers".

Really it's more or less a competition between the young gullible kids and hardcore usually toxic MC Players, and I know there a lot of MC players who aren't like this, it's the majority.

Prison is getting a crowd again but you need a unique one. Most prison servers are the same so if you cant offer a good community + unique stuff like custom enchants and all then dont even bother. (TokenEnchant doesn't count as custom either, so many servers try this and butcher it completely by doing a kind of "you get 10 tokens everytime you level up" system).

Basically, Prison would be a good one as long as you do everything you can to seperate yourself. The most important things are having a good staff that is active and a main gameplay changing feature that isn't commonly found

I have so many good ideas and setups for a Prison Server but I’m not in the mindset of setting one up
