I don't see a reason for such an addition. While reputations are there for users to see what kind of person the other user is, I feel this may lead to possible misinterpretation of the user. Although yes the user has a high reputation, that should not be the main factor as to why the user should be trusted over others. Reputation should guide a user to choose what user to deal with but having this feature would make a user's reputation as the key factor for deals and would make it harder for new users to earn reputation.

Reputation is not meant to be a competition or race but as something rightfully received. Having a reputation leaderboard would promote reputation farming and indirectly support the idea that it is a competition. You may argue that "oh rep farming is already a thing" but if it's already a thing, why would you want something that will promote it further? In fear of promoting reputation farming, I don't agree with coding a leaderboard system for top reputation count just so users can see who's more "trustworthy". There have been multiple suggestions for this feature and all of which have been denied due to this reason.
