I've been struggling with motivation for the past few months, I've been slacking on client work, playing more and more games (*cough* valorant *cough*), putting school work off to the last minute, etc. I usually just listen to scary stories/watch youtube while doing work, but sometimes I can't get myself to just get to working, despite it not being too boring while im working. But, it is a lot more difficult when I want to try something new but have no creativity.

Thoughts on how you guys handle similar situations?

I think of how much I will benefit if I do stuff correctly and plan it out. Plan your day. First school work, then client work, then games. That's my priorty level. I also have breaks where I can play games, browse mcm, eat, chill, etc.

I tried planning out my days, but I don't think I'd really be able to stick to it.

Hehe, I don't plan sometimes as well. I'm not much of a planner at the same time I am. Just try deciding what to do first, no planning required. School work is always best to do first

Honestly, I've been a lazy boy for the last couple of years. Just recently I remembered how poorly I spent my free time and how it did not benefit me at all, playing video games all day. Now I just do as much as I can so I can fulfill my dreams.
So I'm just gonna put it like this: think of something that you really really want so much, whatever, a car, a better pc or a house, or maybe just to be like Dan Bilzerian and do as much as you can for that to become reality. Everyone has a dream so just think of it like, the faster you make it become reality, the more space for other dreams you will have. Try thinking everyday like time = value, how much value do you want to make in a day or in a week?

I understand where you're coming from but if you are not obsessed with self-improvement and success, you will never reach your goals in life. Being lazy is a mindset, and only you can fix that.

Take a look at this video from David Goggins:

Hey, I'm not really supposed to advertise this, but I work for an organisation called Listen to Life Coach. We'll help you set smart goals and follow through with them. You can get group support or private support, and we offer daily activities to increase motivation and mindfulness. (it's all free).

Let me know if you're interested

Do something you like, if you have no motivation to do something, then do something else.
You have a bad mindset so I suggest watching & listening to motivational speeches on Youtube.
Feed your brain with positive stuff, try to avoid negative situations/articles/conversations.
Try to interact with POSITIVE PEOPLE, work together with someone, because it sucks to work alone as you'll ALWAYS lose your motivation.
Think of the fact that gaming probably doesn't bring you money.
Write down the GOALS you want to achieve, both short- and long term.
Make planning and STICK TO IT

I see that you're a Youtube person so I can't say it enough, watch 1 motivational video, and after that LISTEN to those videos during your

Examples of goals:
  • Amount of clients
  • Amount of commissions
  • Amount of revenue/profit
  • New releases
These are just examples; you'll need to set your own goals (& I don't know what kind of work you do), if you aren't able to achieve your goals by a certain date, no problem! Just keep working for it and you'll eventually achieve it

Hope this helped you,
If you need any more help, let me know & good luck! ;)

Example of videos:
Watch:
Listen:

Appreciate the response, been through a good amount of those videos. My mind is naturally pessimistic and realistic. Personally, I just feel like quarantine has gotten to me, even though I'm usually an introvert. I've noticed I feel a bit more productive after exercising so i'm going to try doing that first thing in the morning and seeing how the rest of my day goes.[DOUBLEPOST=1589883118][/DOUBLEPOST]

Possibly, I wanna first see if I'm able to fully control my mind and push myself and strive for the motivation I need
