I've always been stuck around Minecraft and MC related development, and I feel this is because of the ease of network ability, it's easy to find and meet people/potential clients. But, how do I expand my networking further and meet clients that want more than Minecraft plugins? How do I get my name out there in the programming world?

I managed to get out by luck (somebody from MC DM'ing me asking me to join in on a project that happened to work out extremely well), but I'd imagine you could do some freelancing or put yourself out there by increasing your participation in Stack Overflow. If you have internships near you and can do any, it wouldn't be such a bad idea if you have the time. Of course, you can also DM me with your experience and I'll see if I have any job openings you can fill

What are the best places to learn new things in development like for ex: creating actual windows applications?
Everything I know I taught myself, but currently for creating Windows/Mac applications I use Electron and NodeJS, if that helps you any. I also used to use JavaFX, but I heavily prefer Electron now.

From my own experience I can only recommend to go further into web development. There are a lot of interesting technologies and frameworks. The web is evolving pretty fast at the moment. If you're an expert in any modern technology, you'll get a nice job pretty easily. If you already know the basics (HTML, CSS, JS) you might want to take a look at Angular, VueJS, React or Svelte. If you're more interested into Back-End development, Spring Boot, Play Framework or Node.js might be something for you.
There's a lot to be learned ;)
