Recently, my aunt has made an unboxing / makeup review youtube channel
she only has around 19 subscribers, and 250 views total so far which is sorta good for someone who started 2 weeks ago

she's really wanting some advice from people, so please leave some comments that are helpful towards her
and please be pure to her, as she's extremely pure
her most recent video: [ ]
her youtube channel: [ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClrhMVCurzbKYJKjRpSHhkQ ]

please feel free to subscribe to her, and share her videos, shes open to new ideas.

take note:
i knew what i was doing before i posted this, so please dont comment "worst place to post your relatives youtube channel"

the only way this could've been a bad decision if someone is to constructively insult her, being disrespectful would just be toxic lol

Don't think its too smart to share videos of your relatives, especially in this community.

But other than that, maybe having a little bit louder audio would be nice and as Jay said filming in landscape is a lot better.

#1 The camera looks good to me, so the next step is for her to use landscape mode.
#2 I recommend you advertise her videos in maybe like a makeup community.
#3 She should make colorful thumbnails to drag attention to her videos.
#4 If she got like a nice and clean banner that would make people more interested.
#5 Also, tell her to keep the videos under six minutes.

Thank you for being a good nephew and helping her out,
I appreciate seeing people like you around the community.

for 1 2 and 3, she doesn't really know how to work technology, and she's really just an unboxing channel morelike than just a makeup channel but i really wanted to start with a small community to advertise to, and this is the only community i knew lol

for 4 5, ill probably buy her a banner for youtube, but for unboxing channels, they have really packed items for the box she gets monthly so it'll be kinda hard to keep the video anywhere under 10 minutes without knowing how to edit your videos, she films a video and leaves it unedited

but thank you, ill keep her in touch and let her know

1. This shouldn't take much tech prowess, literally she just needs to turn the phone lol
2. Reddit is your friend. Find some makeup/unboxing subreddits that allow self-promo, and post it there (but don't be super aggressive). You can say it's your aunt starting out Youtube if you'd like, as well.
3. It's going to be hard for her to do this without much tech skill, but I agree, that would help.
4. Already covered by cute, and I agree.
5. I don't get this one. Under six minutes is way too short. I'd say the ideal length is around 12 minutes.

She definitely has the potential to grow on YouTube, but here is a bunch of advice I have based on my own experience.

1. I'm sure you have heard this a lot already, but filming the videos in landscape mode would be a step in the right direction.

2. The videos are quite long, especially as watch-time is critical when you are a smaller channel (I know that sounds weird). She would be best off by investing in cheap editing software to make basic cuts, speed things up, remove bad parts . etc

3. What would enhance the video a lot is if you got her to make her own thumbnails, they don't have to be perfect but even a simple minimalistic thumbnail would go a long way.

That is my advice from what I know, hopefully, some other people will have more to contribute.
