My birthday is coming up so I'm thinking of upgrading my PC some more because I don't currently like the performance I'm getting out of it. I think the performance should actually be a lot better than what it is. I get about ~60 FPS in Fortnite right now on all highest settings, but I want to be getting like 200 FPS on average if I can. I'm not sure whether to upgrade my GPU, CPU, or both. I was hoping you all could help me figure it out! Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Here are my specs:

Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz (Quad Core)
Motherboard: B85 Chipset Motherboard (Max 32GB Memory)
Memory: 32GB DDR3 1600MHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4GB
Power Supply: EVGA 500 Watt

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

First of all, happy upcoming birthday! :)

If I were you I would upgrade the graphics card to a 1080 or 1080 Ti if you can, if you do that you'll also need a power supply with at least 750 Watts like this. Good luck!

Only upgrade your Gpu it’ll bring up ur fps, ur processor is fine. If you have enough money i suggest the Gforce 1070 or 1060 if you don’t have the money.

^^True, to change/check this:

- Open your NVIDIA Control panel by right-clicking on your desktop.
- Go to "Check resolution".
- On the drop-box called "Refresh rate" you should see 60Hz, 144Hz and so on. You should change that to the highest it can go.

My monitor on the left and the center one are at 144 Hz (they are connected by DisplayPort and DVI), my right monitor is only at 60 Hz (I think probably because it's connected using HDMI)... I tend to play my games on my center monitor though, so that shouldn't cause any problems would it? Should I change my right monitor to DisplayPort or DVI as well as soon as I can?

Thanks for the advice :)

Doesn't really matter, remember that multiple monitors will put more stress on your GPU and CPU.
