My Dad doesn't want me to build a gaming PC.

So, I have $770 saved. I made $550 in a year, and $231 in two weeks. I was selling soda at school and was stealing $20 bills from a kid (lolwhut).

My Dad thought it was a good idea to take my money and put it in the bank after i spent $50 on a cracked galaxy j7. He said he could buy one for $10. (really... try finding a phone in the exact price range thats cracked for under $50.)

So, after saving $780, I was talking about buying the parts to a gaming setup. He said "its a stupid idea"

- I made this money myself... even at that price range a 1060 would be ok for future gaming anyways... plus with an i5.

- you're conservative and its all about letting the people decide what to do... as long as their making "okay" decisions. honestly i dont spend my money this is the only thing ill spend it on and thats it.

- "why dont u get a ps4" games cost more and the price doesnt change no matter what on digital console games. With a PC a digital copy doesn't deteriorate like a disc.
Consoles like the PS4/Xbox aren't upgradable. They can only perform and look good for so long until we're forced to buy a new console because new games arent avaliable on the old consoles anymore.

If you earned the money, and you hold on to the money, then you decide what to do with it.

Unless you give the money you make to your parents, you should feel free to buy whatever you want. Financial independence is an important part of maturing.

I think you should respect your parent's descision rather then complain about it to a bunch of "strangers" behind their back. If your parents have a problem with it, talk with them and try to convince them otherwise. If not, big deal, you will live.

Yeah, but im on the honors roll and I'm such a good kid, I have a 3.8 GPA and I'm always saiving money and my Dad sees that, but no matter how I try to convince him with that he still doesn't want me to do something like this. I don't have a console, I only have a smartphone, and I didn't even want an iPhone. I wanted a mid range android for around $200-$300, and he forced me to get it using my savings, so I had to start over.
He told me if i could upgrade it with a prebuilt but I said no, you have to upgrade the PSU, and the motherboard won't be that upgradable. If i wanted to do that i would still have to get a new CPU, but for a couple more hundered i could just build a brand new PC with upgradeability.[DOUBLEPOST=1492743697][/DOUBLEPOST]That's it im making an essay on why PC is better than console[DOUBLEPOST=1492743950][/DOUBLEPOST]Im not so far off getting a job, im fourteen and a half and i'm not far off getting a job, i could easily make that in a paycheck and a half.
