just read my emails and at 3:24 AM somebody logged into my PayPal from an Android. I was dead asleep by then.

I don’t even know my own PayPal password. I removed the email association and changed my password but I am still so confused. No money was spent.

Is this something that normally happens? If a client I authorized (like Spotify) to use my PayPal would I get the same notification?

Thanks to nobody for the help lmfao. Apparently the access location was India. They tried to reset the password and couldn’t get the mobile code correct, but I never got a text...

Did you make sure the email was actually from PayPal as well? Sometimes these scammers make fake emails that look realistic to gain the password of the user.

Did you take a look at the sender of the email? Might be a phishing thing.

Yes, it was legit. When I called PayPal they confirmed a mobile login at 3:24 AM located in India. But it’s such a clickbait because then they said that their access was actually denied.

They might've had the correct password, but they probably wouldn't have been able to verify themselves w/ your phone or whatever

Well considering I don’t know my password, and it’s in an encrypted file on my Desktop, I don’t think they have it. I realized that they may have gotten access to an old email associated with the account, or.. and this is me being dumb, I used Sideline at one point and had a phone number that i connected to PayPal as my work number. It’s probably a call center in India, and maybe they have that number since I know I no longer own that phone number. They could have realized I’m associated to their phone number and tried to gain access.
