Don't listen to these 10 year olds, swap out that 960 for a 970 and get rid of your hdd. That will make it relatively the same price for much higher performance.

I like my hhd.[DOUBLEPOST=1457554440][/DOUBLEPOST]
It lets the CPU, GPU, Ram, etc communicate with each other, the better you get, the faster.
Yeah okay but what's wrong with my current one and and suggestions for something better

Synth you dont need a hard drive unless you need storage for video editing or something of that matter. Doesn't matter if you like it or not

Nothing wrong, all I said you could get a better one, your motherboard is pretty good, but not excellent.
Of course I'm trying to stay at 1100-1200 so.[DOUBLEPOST=1457554580][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ehh, I still dont think you need it. I would take a 970 over a hard drive anyday

Ehm.. no. Very, very wrong.

If its not primarily for gaming then a 290/390 would be a much more reasonable choice over a 970.

Am I the only person who thinks he should get a Xeon over an i7?

Would be nice to have someones opinion who has experience/opinions with Xeon vs i7, they are both made by intel and as far as I am aware the only thing an i7 has over a Xeon is the integrated graphics (which you don't need if you have a gpu) and due to a Xeon not having the graphics they are usually cheaper than the i7 equivalent. Xeons are also 'server-grade' and designed to run 24/7, doesn't mean you should but it does mean your cpu will last longer..

Please let me know if anyone agree/disagrees with me, I am personally going to build my next pc with a Xeon but I would love to know other peoples opinions and/or experience with i7 vs Xeon.

A Xeon is a viable option, yes.

If you're doing heavy gaming, an i7 might be the way to go. There are tons of different options within that model, of course, but buying something beefy can help with certain kinds of games, especially if you as a result of your gaming or web work do any video rendering and such, too. Getting an i7 also makes it more future proof, if you don't often upgrade parts.

That said, an i5 is going to be cheaper, and possibly all you need. I personally like the i5-4670k which is about $260 i think. I think this is the most cost effective one for gaming. It has a good performance compared to other i7 processors.

I don't exchange parts much hoping to make this last until college and on.
