My response to everybody complaining that coco got mod.

Some people are upset with it, here's my response.

NOTE: I am not making these complaints, these are my responses to complaints people have been making.

1. Coco and Mick are close, that's why she was chosen.

From what I've heard Mick doesn't even choose staff, but even so it's because the other staff chose her too, not just Mick.

2. Coco isn't active enough to be mod.

Coco may not have many posts, but this does not mean she isn't active on the site. I could shitpost to 10k, and it wouldn't make me a better candidate for staff than her.

3. Coco abuses.

It's pretty clear that if you think this you're just jealous you weren't chosen for staff. Is she really abusing, or are you just looking for a reason to label her as corrupt so you can feel better about yourself?

Dont complain, the staff think before they act.

Staff is chosen by the entire administration team. We vote. In this case, the moderation team had their vote too and nobody was against.

She's quite active. Maybe you're not online at her time because she's from Australia. Post count doesn't define activity.

She's a Moderator. thebaum64 is also a Moderator but you don't see him being crazy active either. If you don't break rules, you probably won't hear much from them.

People just assume it was favoritism because it's another reason to bash Mick and because they are jealous for some reason.

Mick did not choose coco. For the most part, I did. Mick did not even mention here. I suggested her a long time ago and brought it up again. She was fit for the job and is very good at it. I do not appreciate everyone making assumptions about why she was chosen.

We basically start throwing names around based on post quality, behavior, etc and ask for opinions inside the staff team, once we think someone would be capable of being a staff member, we vote. If 1 person goes against, we see why and see if it's fixable. That depends on the situation of course.

Thanks for making that clear. You guys should make a sticky thread explaining this so if anyone questions why somebody is chosen you can just refer them to the thread.

This would just get people PM'ing us saying, 'please mention my name when picking staff'.

So far, nobody has ever been made a staff member without them being discussed first.
