My Theory of the "CakeBosny Plot"

Obviously, shit has been going down. BeBos changes the TOS around and bans Cake for being 11, here's what I think

1) MCM was a registered company before BB owned, and they didn't enforce COPPA.

2) ONLY CakeSG was banned for it, strange right? You think he is the only one with a DOB under 13 years? No!

3) Threads were made to oppose the ban, and were closed? Looks like he doesn't want talk about it

4) BeBos has a grudge with Cake, no doubt why he was banned.

5) BeBos refuses to get written parental consent for underages, but isn't that the law he now chooses to support?


Conclusion: BeBosny had a grudge against CakeSG, and banned him for next to no reason, changing the TOS in his favor.

CakeSG was banned because he is under the age of 13. By law, we are not allowed to collect information from a child under the age of 13, therefore, his access to this website has been restricted (aka he was banned). That's all there is to it, guys.

The only reason why I didn't write anything since the TOS change is because I was extremely tired and slept for 10 hours straight because I worked all night to get this update sorted before I leave on some business trips, so here's my response to some of your invalid points.

This doesn't matter. Every website must enforce the COPPA laws. If they don't, they have to do so asap. It's simply how it is. Let's say you drive every morning to work going through a certain street. Your local government changes the speed limit in that street. You can't speed just because you passed every morning there previously.

The fact the previous owners didn't apply the COPPA laws is NOT my problem.

Besides, MC-Market doesn't run under the same name it did previously. It's legally assigned to a different entity(my company) which has always followed all necessary laws.

Because everyone seems to joke about it now. "Omg no, cakesg god banned pls no! im 11 too, ban me too!". I ban someone and everyone starts complaining for me not being capable of handling a joke? Yeah no, that's not how it works.

This was addressed previously. I spent roughly 10 hours straight working on the update, released it and went to bed. Moderators did good.

If I banned every member I have a grudge against, you wouldn't be here. No for real, I dislike certain members, doesn't mean I'm going to apply a law to ban them.

Because it's a pain in the ass to deal with. It really is. Facebook doesn't allow -13 kids either.



Imo, the law is right. It should have been enforced ages ago. 13 year olds shouldn't be on the internet registering on websites. Especially not on marketplace forums and other things like PayPal which could get their parents in legal trouble.

Just to clarify, BeBosny meant comply with the COPPA laws, not enforce. In this case, MCM is complying with COPPA by restricting kids under the age of 13 from accessing this website.
