Hey. zDrakon here. I see Joker. has the last emoji name. I personally don't like the fact that our names were forced to change to be regular non unique text.

I'd like to start a thread to allow emoji names back as I want my bolts back, and I'm sure others would like to have their cool names back.

Regarding the issue of tagging, mainly by Mick kept suggesting to me, I argue that if anyone wants to tag you, they should go through the effort of finding you through the search bar or wait for a thread with your reply to pop up and reply on your profile page. Or simply copy paste the name from clicking on a profile name.

Seriously, these names are fun to look at and give unique aesthetics to those who want it.

Don't say that it makes tagging "hard" for "customers" to buy from you or post to you because that's BS. If a "customer" wants your attention they'll go out of their way to find a way to contact you. Plus if you post often enough your name will be on threads for people to reply with a quote or click on your PP name to copy your name to tag you or post on your PP page.

Lets bring back these awesome names.

Yes, he is still owner.
The post he made announced that he would be stepping down from his administrative duties.
Leaving a majority of the responsibility in decision making to bebo and rocket.
He's still owner, and he still gets the final word whenever he wants.
He didn't sell it, and he certainly didn't pass it off for free.

I have never ever ever once in my life, ever wanted to tag you enough to do this.
No offense, I don't think anyone ever will.
If you'd like to be contacted at all, I suggest you keep the bolts out of your name.
Using the search bar doesn't work if you can't enter the characters you want to search.
Often times we want to message/tag someone who's name is not readily available, and won't be because we're not waiting for their reply. That is completely circumstantial, and a bad work around for a simple problem.
A lot of times, you can't even find the profile of the user who's name you want to copy, because you can't find them, because you don't have their name, because you haven't copied it yet!!

We shouldn't need to spam our posts all over the site for users to be able to find us.
It shouldn't have to be a goose chase.
You're making this way too difficult.
Simple solution: No special characters.

I don't like non alphanumeric names, however, I don't see the point in banning them. XF takes care of unicode & ASCII chars, anything on a standard keyboard isn't so much a problem.

Special characters will not be allowed in usernames and that is that. Obviously, a "." and "_" are exceptions, as well as a space. But those are the only exceptions there will ever be.

That doesn't enough mention that the vote on the poll says "NO". So there you have it.
