A lot of people here don't mind if you're using nulled, in fact I know that some of the people who offer xenforo have nulled files themselves that they use for clients.
What are nulled files and why are they bad?
They are illegal copies of the files, people use them if they don't have a proper license for the software.
So which software is the OP using illegally in this case?

Using a nulled copy of XenForo can help XenForo.
Alot of people have been using XenForo for their Minecraft server, and $140 is alot of money. Without nulled copies XenForo would likley have never become so popular within the Minecraft community. when there are quite a few free / cheaper alternatives. Alot of people do still buy it for their server. They dont necessarily lose much money from nulled copies, because most people who use it, couldn't afford $140 anyway. But by them using a nulled copy, they are boosting its popularity giving them more sales.
If they were really concerned about people using nulled copies of their software. They would have made something like this: https://www.whmcs.com/members/verifydomain.php so its easy for anyone to find out and report nulled copies of their software.
They care enough to have a place to report nulled copies though, but piracy is rampant in things like these so I assume they just decided to focus on improving their software instead. Imo if you can't afford the software, just get a free alternative but I guess many will disagree, to each their own anyways
