Recently I was commissioned by DEADLOX (yes, Deadlox) for me to manage and make all web developing. I of course have never spoken to a large YouTuber before, so I'm requesting some advice from some people whom have spoken to fingerheads of the Minecraft community, or any community for that matter.

Thank you all.
Miles.

This thread was posted here because I'm requesting advice revolving around web development.

You will firstly need to gauge what he wants out of a website and its goal, from there you can choose what platform to base it off (enjin, wordpress, xenforo, phpbb3 or other CMS / Forum software)

From there work out an estimation of time it would take you to set up the site and then price it with what you are comfortable with.. then add 10% to the cost for additional changes and fixes incase issues arise or more is needed after handover.

don't be afraid to price over what you really want, as you can have it open for discussion with DEADLOX.

After an acceptance work on a 30% up front with 70% on handover of website. Make sure if you are installing things hosted on DEADLOX own website hosting you have ftp and password access incase he decides to change it and not pay.

IF you can, make the site on your own hosting then transfer the whole website over after its complete if you are unsure of him paying or not.

Be open with him on time frames, concerns in development and design and on his suggestions for the site, as some clients may want something but mean another or suggest something that isnt functionally possible.

hope this help, hit me up on skype if you haven't got me already, skype info should be in my profile on here

I'm not sure if what I'm about to tell you is true, however I think it's worth you know. A mate of mine was hired by Deadlox and MattHD for plugin developer, my mate spoke to the ex-head dev after he quit. The ex-head dev quit because apparently Deadlox and MattHD were scamming them (not paying) - I'm not sure if it's true just thought someone should give you the head's up :)

First off, I commissioned you, however I work under deadlox :p. Second ItDoesntTickle, tell me if you would pay for work that doesn't get finished? The developer dropped, I've had problems with devs, too many people that can't stick to work these days.

As I said I'm not sure if it's true; it's only what I heard

If I claimed the rumours to be true I would agree with you, however I stated im not sure if they're true, and regardless if the rumours are true or not, the developer would have a right to know of these rumours

I've told all my devs, I agree with you on the point that they have a right to know the suspicsions of what I'm doing. However I have a lot more people who can vouch for me than those who say I am a scammer or a fake. I'm willing to provide proof of my friendship with Deadlox over pm of course. As well as many vouches to show I am legit about business
