Hi, appreciate it for coming to the thread. I'm looking to upgrade the PC as of now. I currently have:

AMD A8-7650K
GT 710
8GB RAM

As you can probably tell already, the PC itself is not for gaming. I've a budget of 500 or so. Any ideas? Thanks x BTW (I'm in EU (Ireland))

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

M.2 SSD can cost you less and works faster (if your motherboard supports this that is).

Buy gtx 1050 ti, 16Gb ram and add 128gb ssd about the cpu i think it's decent. You can still upgrade it to a core i5 gen 7 with your $500 budget.

Oh well.. Then go for a i3 gen 5 cpu and you will have enough
would it be good to just get a good graphics card n try overclock if its possible?

Hopefully you know how to build a PC.

CPU: https://shorturl.at/nqIMW
RAM: https://shorturl.at/twzEV
MOBO: https://shorturl.at/apryB
GPU: https://www.ebuyer.com/874784-asus-phoenix-geforce-rtx-2060-6gb-graphics-card-ph-rtx2060-6g

108.97 + 70.85 + 42.98 + 269.99

If you manage to go over budget, get yourself a good SSD:

+ 32.99

= £525.78

Reuse PSU seeing that you're already using an A8, reuse your hard drive and sell your memory and GPU for beer money.

You mentioned that the computer wasn't for gaming, so I figure it's a workstation for modeling maybe, which you should still need a good GPU for if I recall correctly on the software processing and encoding.

If not, then you can go ahead and reuse that GPU so you have other monitor outputs for your workstation. Regardless, the 2600 is a good processor. Go ahead and save the £270 on the GPU.

Realistically it's good to know what you're planning to use it for.

Yep

I mean that's a whole new, modern and powerful computer right there. Your power supply and hard drive isn't required based on memory and motherboard, the same for the case. Therefore you can reuse all that.

Like I mentioned if you don't want a new GPU for gaming or rendering workload purposes then you can use your current GPU for display outputs.

Worth suggesting. Might want to consult some people such as local computer businesses if they can build it for you for a quote/price, that is if you don't know how to build a computer.

Hand-built pc's > pre-built 95% of the time
