need help about OVH

Hello guys, not my first timr to post about ovh, but ecery few weeks i stumble upon new thing, i am up to make a network fory server, atn i using Apex minecrafthosting for a single server and got sime decent playerbase, I am wondering, what is SSH? Any tutorial how to srt it up? What is SFTP? Is it different from FTP? Can i use normal FTP like filezilla? How does the console will look like when you get the host(heard u dont get a console..)? Is it possible to make schudled tasks(like reboot each 12 hour)? Should i make a script for start and restart for each server alone? If so, where to put the files?
I know its too many questions, but without asking i wont be able to learn new things, Thanks for anyone who anwers me.

Well I don't know if you are trolling or not because you semi have great grammar, just the spelling. You can simply buy a panel and install it within the panel like 'apex minecrafthosting' is probably doing.

1. SSH = Basically like Command Prompt, kinda. You can use Putty for it.
2. FTP = FileZilla, it is used to manage files, all of that, where you keep everything, etc, ;p.
3. The console looks like a panel, basically.
4. Yes, you can do scheduled tasks.

XD, Thanks, i am not trolling i just went throught few new things lately (SSH and SFTP mainly) so lets say i am making a server with bungee, prison skyblock facs and hub for example, in addition i have used SSH, each one of these server will has it own console or all of them have 1 console?

The SSH terminal depends on the software you are using, but as I said it would probably be best for you to purchase a panel like Multicraft or XenoPanel.

No doubt you're simply looking for a quick scam. Please leave.

@OP: SFTP is FTP. The only difference is one that you don't need to understand (it's that SFTP is secure as it runs via SSH).
When you buy a server from OVH, you will get an email that has the following info:

• Server IP
• Root username
• Root password

First thing you'll do is open up PuTTY, and type in the server ip in the "host name (or ip address)" box. Ensure "SSH" is ticked under connection type, and then type in user & password when prompted.
From there, you'll need to do a few things:

• Install java and screen (screen allows you to keep things running while not connected to the servers terminal)
  
• Update all packages (to ensure that you're running everything up to date)
• Configure iptables (to allow connections on port 25565 and 8192 (votifier))

First thing, however, is to change your password to something a lot more secure. Once you're connected, type "passwd" and enter. This will change the password for the root account. (I would strongly recommend moving to SSH keys but I doubt you'd be able to understand how to use them)

A WORD OF WARNING - If you are inexperienced with Linux or system administration, DO NOT PURCHASE A VPS OR DEDICATED SERVER. You will NOT be able to secure them properly, and thus you constantly risk people hacking your machine. If you seriously need a VPS/dedi, HIRE A SYSADMIN.

You can hire a sysadmin anywhere (including here) - and the price depends on the person. In reality, you could usually "settle" with having someone set up what I listed and then leaving it to you.

no offense but usually when someone has to add "100 percent legit"
it may not be so legit. Just saying. Plus one of the links you posted do not work.

Secondly. For the OP, google is your friend. That is how i figured it out. I had no idea about what it took to do a dedicated server but i just googled info about ssh, sftp and found some good sites. i would seriously consider doing more research before you consider getting a dedicated server. as it does take a bit of work to set up . there are a lot of tutorials/youtube videos on the matter and before you even consider getting a dedicated host. i would do more research on the subject first.

i kind of went a bit over my head when i got mine but hey now i know how to install multicraft from centos7 right away..........so theres that .
