Hey, I need help choosing the right amount of GBs/RAM.

I’m planning to make a prisons server. How much ram do i need? i wanna have decent amount of plugins and that can handle like 20-100 players

I'd say running a VPS with like 32-64 would be perfect. 64 may be a bit overkill too

This is the most common server-related question ever, and the only reason that people are still asking is that the amount needed is different for everyone. If you are running a small community with a handful of plugins, then you could probably get away with a couple of gigs. However, If your server is loaded with dozens of high-intensity plugins from Spigot and you are pulling tens if not hundreds of players, then you will need something a lot higher.

If I had to give you a general number, a single prison server with standard plugins and no complicated bungeecord setup would set you easily in the 8 - 16 GB range. If you can optimize your server to minimize lag, you might be able to get away with something on the lower end of the scale. Nevertheless, I would recommend that you do some testing to see what works best for you.
