NEED HELP! [Text]

Hello! Today I was editing a video and wanted to do that cool text animation that everyone uses when the letters of the text slowly fade in one by one from above at a certain changing velocity.

As seen here :

Now, I got only 40 hours of experience with Hitfilm Express, I don't think it matters.
My question is : What's the name of the effect? What causes the letters to split? Do I need masks?

NOTE : If you're a hitfilm editor and knows what's going on, I'd love you to help me through discord with this animation or show me a tutorial you found on youtube.

Just look up "hitfilm text animation" it comes up with thousands of tutorials.

Just talked with one of the creators, it's not an option on hitfilm express yet, you tried pointing out the obvious but it does not solve any of my questions, don't you think I tried already? xd

There's a button that says animate just click that and select like opacity or something then use the range selector on that animator.
Edit: nvm idk what hitfilm is lol.

One of the developers gave me a brilliant option but that's just slavery, HitFilm didn't consider adding this animation so I pretty much have to animate each character one by one, oof

There's no such thing in hitfilm, I tried looking for an effect
