Need help with bitcoin... Have a few questions

Hi all,

So I've heard that bitcoin mining is a cool way to get a bit of money, So I'm learning if my PC is capable of producing some sort of profit.

My specs are as follows

16GB Ram
Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core processor
Nvidia GTX 1650

I'm using Nice Hash miner and I'm mining with both my GPU and CPU simultaneously.

The miner states that I get around 0.30USD a day, Does that sound right with my specs? Is there any other software such as easy-hash that produces a more substantial profit?

I'm no expert but I think that sounds about right. Bitcoins value has gone down and it would also be weird if there was some amazing way to make money.

It is not worth mining on a consumer computer, maybe if you fork out a couple hundred and buy a dedicated miner and you also have some cheap electricity bills then it *might* kind of be profitable but the only people really making money with mining are people that have atleast a dozen machines

So basically, there isn't a point

You can try mining other coins such as Grim or "shit coins" but you are betting that they don't drop 99% of the value.

The days of GPU mining Bitcoin are long past over. Nice Hash isn't actually mining Bitcoin for you, they're mining whatever altcoins are profitable that don't have specialized mining hardware (ASICs) built for them. Nice Hash is mining something like ZCash and paying you out the value in Bitcoin.

NiceHash is projecting that ill earn about 10$ a month with both of my computers working about 7-9 hours a day, I don't pay for electricity so it doesn't seem that bad... especially as you never know... bitcoin might increase in value someday

If your parents are paying the bills it would be really quite selfish to do this. With the electricity and the hardware together you're not making profit at all and just making your parents lose money. Find a different way to make money.

If you're not paying then your parents probably are. Save them some money and help them out by doing chores or something and earn that $10 a lot quicker

Even if I was paying for electricity at "however much I use" I still would make a profit (allbeit small) remember, to get 10$ my machines are only working 9 hours, if I had them on 24/7 I would have them produce more...
