Hello, so I can connect to my server just fine through my NAT, but people outside of my network cannot. I forwarded ports on my router, and in my Ubuntu server 18.04, but it did not work, someone told me to give them the external ip to connect, but this did not work either. Please help me.

are you hosting yourself? If so then your connecting to an internal location from an internal source so your firewall will not view the connection as incoming traffic. It is possible your firewall is blocking the access to the port they are trying to connect to in order to join the server.

Just for future people, it's called a hairpin NAT.
