First of all, I’m going to start by saying that this is not a paid position. I’ve frankly got nothing to pay you with. There is another person involved, but they are only willing to pay for the hosting costs (At least it'll be a high quality one). The only thing I can promise is a cut of the donations, but I know it’s pretty much empty words. There’s no guarantee the server will succeed or make enough money to pay for your efforts in the end, to be perfectly frank. If that’s a turn-off for you, then it’s perfectly understandable.
I’ll be talking about what we have to offer, and then you can decide whether this is a good investment of your time and effort or not.
Now, talking about the server itself, we have two sections in the making.
If you're still here:
I’ll be talking about what we have to offer, and then you can decide whether this is a good investment of your time and effort or not.
Now, talking about the server itself, we have two sections in the making.
The first section is called ChunkBlock, and the current version is 1.21. Here’s a video of the 'island' part:
Basically, it’s a combination of SkyBlock and Boxed. You can watch chunk generation in real-time, which I think looks pretty cool. The generation matches normal Minecraft perfectly, and future generations will also look "normal." A "premium generation" feature lets you fly through a virtual world to select a desired chunk. Afterward, you can choose to continue premium generation (adjacent premium chunks) or switch back to basic generation, which will generate the normal chunk that was supposed to generate in that location. The only drawback is that height differences often make premium and normal chunks mismatch, and fixing this would lead to other issues like block loss.
Players can't build in unlocked chunks.
The plugin is entirely created by myself, and as far as I know, there isn’t another one like it on the market or on any server. That said, I didn’t do a deep dive, so I could entirely be wrong about that statement. The performance of the plugin is as good as it can get. I’ve tested it with about 3,000 concurrent chunk generations at the same time, and TPS did not drop below 20. The plugin uses minimal NMS, though there’s still a tiny amount present. However, this won’t affect update times abd I’d say this plugin can be updated or downgraded to any version down to 1.8 or to any newer version in less than 30 minutes.
Here's some of the custom plugins I've done for the server, I'll just spoiler them in case you're not interested and don't want to be bombarded by text.
That’s about it for the plugins I’ve made. I have a few more custom made plugins like events, etc etc, but this section is getting a bit long. We also have some public plugins but there's no point in going over those here.

Other features on the server created by me include the shop and AH GUI, mostly for flexibility and to save the cost of buying premium plugins. I can easily add, modify, or remove features from these GUIs. There’s a black market NPC that sells random items from the shop at higher prices and without tax, but the prices drop slightly with each sale. The NPC spawns at random intervals every couple of hours, stays for 30 to 60 minutes, and appears randomly at the spawn. Selling to the black market is risky as you can get scammed (get less money than you should), robbed (lose the sold items with no money), or mugged (lose the money you earned and your whole inventory). These events are rare, but the chances can be adjusted. You can sell either one stack at a time (or less if you have under 64 of a material) or your whole inventory of that type. The black market has different chances for single or bulk sales.
We’ve also got a mayor NPC who offers personal or chunk upgrades like lower taxes, better loot, more hoppers, higher bank interest, etc. The bank plugin allows players to store money so they don’t lose it on death (players don’t lose items but a percentage of their money). You can also earn interest on your banked money, which is given at the daily restart. The percentage is configurable, but you need to play a certain amount of time that day to get it. For example, if the interest is set to 5% and the required playtime is 3 hours, a player who only plays for 1.5 hours will get 2.5% interest. If they exceed 3 hours, they still only get the 5%.
We’ve also got a chunk loader and a chunk collector. The chunk loader has an expiration timer that starts when you receive it, and it ticks even if it’s in your inventory, but it covers a 3x3 chunk radius instead of just one chunk. The chunk collector lasts forever, and you can collect or sell items from its GUI.
Other features include fullbright, item and inventory displays, and an XP sponge that stores experience and can be eaten. There’s also a quality-of-life GUI with free and premium toggleable features like picking the best tool, preventing tools from breaking by switching to another item at 1 durability, chat warnings when tools or armor are damaged at certain percentages, block refills for building, and auto pick-up. Premium or job-related abilities include auto crop replant, tree capitator, a boosted pickaxe that mines in a 3x3 area, and vein miner.
We also have a timed fly plugin with a selling system, but it’s simple, so there’s not much else to say about it.
That’s about it for the plugins I’ve made. I have a few more custom made plugins like events, etc etc, but this section is getting a bit long. We also have some public plugins but there's no point in going over those here.
The other section is an improved prison. I’ve got no video to show here yet. It’s not going to be the classic OP prison with a hyper-inflated economy. First of all, I am currently working on a custom world generation for it where the world is an endless prison-like structure, with cells generated in the world that would be assigned to the player. The cells vary in size, but they have a limit to how small they can be, and they have other cells right next to each other. So instead of a "cell island" like you have on other servers, you’re surrounded by inmates all around you.
If the cell feels too small for you, then you can leave and explore the endless corridors to find bigger cells that you can purchase, but they cost more. Exploring the corridors is not safe, as there are wardens roaming the place. They can both see and hear you, so you’d need distractions or an invisibility potion to roam freely. The generation can also create mazes and other types of structures that can hide goodies.
You’ll still have the classic regenerable mines, but they generate less money. There are also open caves that act more like dungeons, where you can mine ores for a higher price, fight monsters, elites, and bosses, or other fun things.
There's some other stuff, but I’m not going to bore you with the details like I did with SkyBlock. The big plan is to have something similar to Hypixel SkyBlock, but obviously at a much, much smaller scale since I don’t have the people or the money for something bigger. I basically want players to have the option to either play the classic, relaxing prison version or follow other paths to keep things interesting, adding and improving the gameplay overall so it becomes a bit more enjoyable and replayable than the original gamemode.

I’m not actually expecting you to have any kind of experience, I won’t be asking for proof of experience, just say if you have any or not, if you want to show proof then alright, if not, that’s fine too. There’s no time limit on the project at the moment. I’ve developed a lot of the core plugins (for SkyBlock at least), but I’m currently in my final year of university and working on my bachelor’s thesis, so I clearly don’t have a lot of time. Because of that, there’s no clear final date, and you don’t have to be too active to participate. You can take all the time you need. I just need someone who’s willing to pop in occasionally and do some work. You can also suggest plugins to add or remove if you know of any public ones, or I can create them if they don’t exist and they sound really good and beneficial to the server.
If you're still here:
One last thing before I give you my Discord. The server is backed up every day. You will have access to the console and FTP, but the FTP will only be limited to the SkyBlock folder for now. You’ll only be able to work with files that aren’t .jar files. You won’t be able to upload, modify, open, download, remove, or even see .jar files. Any jar files that need to be uploaded will have to be provided to me, where they will be decompiled and properly examined. I ask that you don’t bring any plugins that are premium, paid, or owned by you or someone else, as that just doesn’t feel right. Obfuscated jars won’t make it on the server or even be inspected.
I’m afraid there is no exception to this rule. It’s in place to protect the plugins I’ve made and to protect the server from any malicious intent. If these constraints don’t work for you, that’s perfectly understandable, but if you decide to message me, please keep in mind that this condition will not be compromised.
