hey, so basically, I've setup a new user on my new dedi(I've done this before) and created a server file in /home/tabbin, now, I've set my self to owner of that directory and included -R so I own it all, but every times I update it, it changes the owner of the directory owner to tabbin, which I can't edit without setting my self as owner again.

if you can help me with this pm me :)

Are you editing it using a root account?

I don't know if this will work, but I think you could try using "sudo su" when dealing with this file ? Experts please correct me if I'm wrong

I can just re-set the permissions, I want to use sftp to edit the files and I want to use my user's account and not root

Let me try to get one of my friends to MCM. He might be able to help you.
