Hey everyone, i was not sure where the right place to post this was but i decided it would be best done here.

I have an old computer than i will be changing and installing the OS Ubuntu Server, I want to be able to host a gaming server off it.

I know and old laptop is not the best but i don't plan on doing anything with it so why not try this.
It has good specs so im confident it can be done but i need help doing it. Here are my questions and if you can place leave a comment with your answers!

1. How do i start to install the server or servers?
2. How can i make it a public server without portforwarding it?
3. Can i host it like any other host, or do they have like a secure port forward port?
4. What should i do to start to install the server?

It really doesn't sound like a good idea man.
I know, but im just doing it for the use of the old laptop, can't let it go to waste. Am i not able to host a gaming server off it publicly or do host use their own special system or something?

1. Install a panel, there is a great free panel out there to easily create servers.
2. You can't. You'll have to portforward for others to connect to your server other than people on your LAN.
3. Yes you can. However secure it the best you can.
4. Make a bootable drive/USB for your pc to boot from there, which you can then use to install the OS.

Yours Sincerely,
Davyy

You literally comment this on every thread, how can you give so many servers away for free?
