It’s almost as if Mojang wanted to go back to the 1.8 combat system but they’d look incredibly silly if they did so because they would have caused so much drama for nothing.I was going to make a sarcastic comment about how they’ve essentially given up and gone back to something similar to 1.8’s combat.
But you know what? I actually think this is a good compromise. I won’t pretend that I like this better than 1.9’s combat, but 1.9 was so radical and controversial a change, no server I played on moved to it. I’ve never truly gotten to play on 1.9… but maybe now that we have a more well rounded system, more servers will finally jump to 1.15. For that reason, I’m for it.
EDIT: Agree with his closing statements. I don’t think holding to attack should be equal to clicking, it’s too lazy for that. And new weapons taking advantage of things like range would be truly transformative.
I’m really looking forward to this. I think it works well as a combination of the two combat systems and I’m glad that stupid hit cool down has been reduced to basically nothing. I’m ready to see the 1.9 hypocrites come out and start complaining about how the 1.9 combat system is better and it shouldn’t be changed. We just need an option to disable hold to attack server-side, then with some more adjustments this system will be perfect. Stubborn people will stick with 1.7 but this system is damn near identical, when this goes into full release I don't see why servers wouldn't update.
Yeah, there's just something more intense about jitterclicking and aiming, then clicking occasionally none the less holding down your button to click; I mean, glad they're looking to do more; but they had a chance to really make pvp shine and take it in a different direction, me personally I would've liked new movement mechanics.i would still choose 1.7 lol
Better side strafing or omni-sprint would've been cool, bhop if you're actually good at it I wouldn't complain either xd I just want the skill ceiling to be higher not lower.bhop in minekraft
Mojang seemingly has made the skill gap lower with each update to the movement/combat. Originally you had to w tap and pvp but then they added the sprint button (which at the time using mods to add a sprint button was typically considered cheating) which allowed a lot more players to run around and jitter click.Better side strafing or omni-sprint would've been cool, bhop if you're actually good at it I wouldn't complain either xd I just want the skill ceiling to be higher not lower.
