Hi all, I'm planning on setting up a new server and I'm looking for a partner as it will be more fun working with someone.
I've been away from MC for a while but I have plenty of time now and are interested to get back and start a server again.
The details of the server concept will follow and all the other bits of information that might help you decide.
I'll also include a list of what I expect from you.
What I'm offering
The main idea here is that we are a 2 man team working on the server together voluntarily, me as owner and you as co-owner.
You can decide to only help with the setup or stay in it and we will set up contracts for revenue shares.
I am going to invest some money for specific things the server needs (art, trailer etc) but I'm not going to pay you as co-owner directly.
I'm not really in it for the money it'll be mostly just the experience and the fun.
This means the server wont be pay to win and unless we make the server a big success I am not expecting any big revenue numbers.
Non the less you can expect a fair revenue share, it depends on what you'll be doing but we can go up to 40%.
Who am I?
I'm a 31 year old guy from the Netherlands.
I used to work full time as game developer (mostly backend) which means I have plenty of experience on development.
I've started hosting Minecraft servers from 2011 to 2017 so I have quite some experience there as well.
Additionally I've done plugin development jobs and made quite a lot of plugins in general for my own servers back then.
Right now I have a lot of time so I will likely be spending every day quite some hours on getting this server going.
What will the server be like?
I'm planning to make a survival server that is extremely focused on economy.
The main feature of the server will be that there's a monthly economy leaderboard where you compete to make the most coin in the month.
The players can win gift vouchers or something.
There will be many sources for the players to get coins.
Primarely with their own player shops, there will be a daily market where you can deposit a limited amount of items for coins.
And potentially there might be some sort of system for daily jobs or quests but all of it is still quite open and we will see how things turn out.
In addition to the monthly economy leaderboard there will be monthly world resets as well including a resource world.
This way the main world can remain up an running for many years to come and there will always be enough resources for the economy and new players.
So basically players build their farms and such in the main world and they persist throughout the months but everything else will basically reset monthly to keep the server fresh.
What am I looking for?
For now I'm mostly looking for a co-owner that wants to set-up and manage the server together with me.
The more skills you have the better of course so if you are someone that can do a lot and has enough free time then I'm looking for you.
Ideally you can spend like at least 10 hours a week on the project but if you can not do that much we can maybe still come to an agreement.
As for the skills here is a list of some things that will be needed.
A lot of these things I can do myself but I'm just looking for a partner so that we can work on all of it together and make it more fun.
