Hi,
I've posted here just a minute ago, however, I think the forums would really benefit from newer emojis. It's one of the only things which really dates the site. I believe you can adopt Twitter's emojis without licencing, and it's likely possible to replace the emojis through the forum software - so it wouldn't be too difficult.

Not sure on the exact reason, however if I had to guess I'd assume because it doesn't really provide that much of a benefit to the site and nobody is really asking for it. The one emoji that I know people have been asking for is :eyes: - and we can't even get that added.

When we migrate to XF2 we'll be updating our smilies because we need to, but I doubt we'll be adding in many more new ones unless you're Ultimate.

Due to limitations with XF1, the smilies must be pretty pixelated (I think at least?) and so we've just never gotten more made when they will probably just look worse.
